Miss Delaware has been told that she is too old for the pagent and has had her crown removed. She loses her $$$$ even after the they failed to catch the age on her entry forms. She is 25 this is open to girls 17-24. The only time you should ever use the words too old and 25 in the same sentence is if you are talking about a Justin Bieber concert.
I have several friends that are pro photographers and that is something that most people just do not think is a job. This is really true for those that work with models like SI Swimsuit. That is not the case at all but I think it is always going to be the case. These photographers put a lot of time into making sure the pose and the lighting and the photo itself is amazing but when you are taking photos of amazing looking women most people will never view what you do as a job. Casey Kasem Passed away on Fathers Day. The Man was a radio legend. His voice was with us every weekend and through ups and downs. Click here to listen to hear Casey reading a letter from a listener on during the 60's
Casey doing his tribute to John Lennon the weekend following his death
Casey from January 1981
Each week he would sign of the show with "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars" because he did not believe in saying goodbye to listeners. Casey believed that even as the science of radio had changed the basics did not. It was about telling stories and sharing with the audience. He was one of the all time greats to me and is an American Radio Icon....thank you Casey
The most famous DJ in the World Casey Kasem is in the final stages of life. His daughter Keri Kasem had stopped food, water and medicine because doctors said it was painful for him to get those things. A court has now ordered that he shall receive food, water and medicine. His health has led to legal fights between the kids and his current wife. I hate to see that for any family. Casey is known best for his American Top 40 Countdown Show one of the first nationwide shows of any countdown for radio.
He got his start doing nights and the GM came into the studio one night and told him he needed to do something with his show. He told the GM he was doing a request and dedication show....the GM says no do a countdown show. Casey said Countdown what...the GM took a BIllboard Magazine out of the trash and said....Count this down. Casey thought that was the dumbest idea for a show but went with it. That would lead to one of the biggest radio careers in the world.
When you work in radio the public develops an image of you. For Casey that was the all American slice of apple pie guy. WIth that said when you mess up even nice guys will let the F bomb fly. Click on the link to hear some bloopers from an American Radio Legend.
Today is the Anniversary of D Day. 70 years ago today a huge day for WWII. I put together some footage clips from this event. Thank you to all the WWII soldiers and to those that lost their lives on those beaches.
The following video is rare in color video of the day
This is an 89 year old D day vet jumped again to same site 70 years later
Some of the Vets that took the beach that day return to remember those they lost. I am always amazed talking with those that served during WWII. They all say we are not heros and point to those that died and say they are the heros....we made it home
