21st Annual Rockaway Beach Hydroplane Races June 2^nd & 3^rd
The Rockaway Beach Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the City of Rockaway Beach will be holding the 21st Annual Hydroplane Races. Racers skim the lake surface competing against each other driving at speeds up to 90 mph. It is an exhilarating spectacle that is fun for the entire family and there is no admission fees to the public. Time trials are from 10 a.m. to noon both days. The races will take place from 12:30 pm till 5 pm on Saturday June 2nd and 12:30 pm to 3 pm Sunday, June 3rd. Bring your family and lawn chairs and have an exiting weekend along the shores of Lake Taneycomo. Food and beverages will be available at the fishing island along side the starting line.
