Yoko Ono invites you to make art at the Springfield Art Museum

If you're looking for something to do this weekend, check out the Springfield Art Museum for an interactive art piece from Yoko Ono.

Per the Springfield Art Museum's website:

Beginning in April 2022, the Springfield Art Museum invites our visitors to engage with the participatory exhibition, Yoko Ono: Mend Piece (Andrea Rosen Gallery, New York City version), from the Rennie Collection, Vancouver.

Ono proposes communal mending as an act of healing. In a seemingly simple white room, shattered cups and saucers are placed on a table. Participants are asked to mend the fragments together using common household items: twine, glue, scissors, and tape. The resulting works are displayed on nearby shelves, evidence of the power of collective action.

Mend Piece embraces the metaphor of the ancient Japanese art of Kintsugi, a technique of repairing broken or cracked pottery using brushstrokes of gold and silver, a philosophy that treats the breakage and repair as part of the object’s history - an important and precious detail, rather than something to disguise. With straightforward directions, the artist asks participants to let go of preconceptions and consider larger ideas: "Mend with wisdom, mend with love./It will mend the earth/at the same time.”

Heineken introduces "The Closer"

When you think of Heineken, does your brain immediately go to that scene in Blue Velvet? You know this one...

There is a study that showed people have increased their average working day by 2.5 hours. With that in mind, Heineken has launched a gadget that can help with what it's calling this work-life imbalance: It's called The Closer. It's a Bluetooth-enabled bottle opener that opens your beer... and shuts down your work apps.

Check out the video below - at first, I was like 'yeah, that'd be cool if it were real'. Turns out, it is. Heineken has a contest going live on June 8th at 9am CST and you could win one of these bad boys. Check out their website for further details.

Bon Scott is the subject of a new documentary

I love documentaries! Released by ABC's documentary series Australian Story, this 37 minute doc features Bon's family, and others who have not spoken publicly about Bon in decades. This is a must watch for any AC/DC fan.

Play Def Leppard's new game

Def Leppard just released their 12th album called Diamond Star Halos this past Friday and now you can play their new game while listening to the album. In this game you jump right into the world of a fast-paced, hard-rocking lifestyle of a band manager hitting the road to go on tour. This looks like it will be fun for when you need to kill some time.

Rush's forbidden beer slogan

Apparently you have to mind your P's and Q's when coming up with a slogan.

"...Did you know the phrase ‘Drinking beer is better than being hit in the head with a hammer’ can’t be put on a beer can? Me neither. But that’s a no-no. We did ask.”

A new Led Zeppelin bootleg will soon be available

The word bootleg usually raises eyebrows but for some, it can make for an interesting item for some collections.  Check out this article for more details.

“It is a real Holy Grail, as it is May 4, 1971 Odense show that has been hoarded for over 51 years! The biggest surprise, apart from very good sound quality, is that the tape features live versions of Four Sticks and Gallows Pole, performed just a day prior on the famous Copenhagen show on May 3, 1971,”

She Hulk Official trailer

What do you think of this? I just hope Lou Ferrigno makes a cameo.

Rob Zombie's Munsters Reboot

Rob Zombie is known for some pretty crazy & bloody movies, but one thing is for sure, he is a damn good movie maker. I'm very excited for this Munsters reboot. A lot of people are nervous about it not being like the original, but here's my two cents. I don't think that a modern Munsters story should be the same as original, but it's Rob Zombie we're talking about here. If there is anyone who would respect all the little details and nuances of the original Munsters, it'll be Rob Zombie and we should expect a lot of nods to the OG show.
